The Turner Prize is primarily associated with which field?

The Turner Prize is a major award in contemporary visual arts in the UK. It’s given by the Tate to a British or Ireland-based artist for an outstanding exhibition or body of work from the previous year. The prize centers on visual works such as installations, video, photography, sculpture, and other media you experience visually, rather than on writing, music, or dance. That focus on visual presentation and the artists’ practice in making tangible art pieces is what ties the prize to visual arts. The other fields—literature, music, and dance—have different kinds of awards tailored to their respective disciplines.
