The Welsh Assembly comprises how many members?

The Welsh Assembly (now called the Senedd) has sixty Members. This size keeps the body compact while allowing both direct representation of constituencies and some proportional representation through regional seats. Forty members are elected from individual constituencies and twenty are elected from regional lists under the Additional Member System. The 60-seat structure has been the standard for Wales, making it smaller than some other UK legislatures, and that’s why options with more seats don’t fit.
