Where was the first tennis club founded?

The idea being tested is the historical origin of organized tennis clubs. The earliest dedicated tennis club was established in Leamington Spa—the Leamington Tennis Court Club—founded in 1872, created specifically for regular lawn tennis on grass and helping to standardize the game as it spread. Brixton and Haywards Heath had tennis activity later, and St Andrews is famed for golf, not tennis. So Leamington Spa is the correct choice because it’s recognized as the place where the first tennis club was formed.
