Which city is traditionally associated with the Gunpowder Plot and Guy Fawkes?

The key idea is where the historical action took place. The Gunpowder Plot was a plan to blow up Parliament in London, and Guy Fawkes was captured while guarding barrels of gunpowder in the cellars beneath the Houses of Parliament in Westminster, London. Because the plot centers on the Parliament building in London, this city is the one most strongly linked to the event and to the ensuing Guy Fawkes Night tradition. While Guy Fawkes was born in York, the dramatic center of the plot—and its memory in popular culture—belongs to London. The other cities aren’t tied to the core incident.
