Which director is associated with The Killing Fields?

The film The Killing Fields was directed by Roland Joffé. This 1984 historical drama portrays the Khmer Rouge era in Cambodia and follows journalist Sydney Schanberg and Cambodian Dith Pran, giving the movie its intense, human focus. Joffé is the director behind this work, a standout in his filmography alongside The Mission. The other directors listed are known for different projects—Hugh Hudson for Chariots of Fire, Nicolas Roeg for titles like Don’t Look Now, and Kevin Macdonald for The Last King of Scotland—so they aren’t the ones who directed The Killing Fields.
