Which of the following British athletes has won a gold medal in the Olympic Games?

Recognizing Olympic gold medalists from Britain often comes down to remembering standout Olympic moments. Dame Kelly Holmes is a British athlete who famously won two gold medals at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games, taking gold in both the 800 metres and the 1500 metres. Her double gold made her one of Britain’s most celebrated Olympians, and she was later honoured with a damehood for her achievements. The other names are well known in their fields for different reasons—one as a Formula One driver and another as a tennis player—so the best fit for the description of a British athlete who has won Olympic gold is Dame Kelly Holmes.
