Who directed the 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral?

Mike Newell directed Four Weddings and a Funeral. He shaped the movie’s witty, warm rhythm and guided the ensemble performances, giving the film its distinctive British romantic-comedy feel that resonated in 1994. The other directors listed are known for different kinds of work—Nicolas Roeg for stylistically edgy, often darker films; Hugh Hudson for grand historical dramas like Chariots of Fire; Kevin MacDonald for documentary-style or more contemporary dramas—so they didn’t helm this particular film.
